Following some time spent studying commerce and ultimately completion of law with Honours at the University of Western Australian, Ian Clairs was admitted as both barrister and solicitor in 1979.

A keen eye for business and property has generally been mirrored by his chosen areas of legal practice although over the last decade Ian has notably expanded his skill set into estate planning, wills and binding financial agreements. Some may attribute this to age, others prudence.

Ever the pragmatist, Ian is focused on solutions rather than entrenched in processes. This is evidenced by his tight-knit working relationship with clients and their advisors, underpinned by the aim of creating circumstance-specific solutions.

Not 100% lawyer, Ian is part human and has more than a passing interest in rowing. Be it the fresh air or the synchronicity of man, machine and mother nature – he does rather enjoy starting the day on the water. Perhaps harking back to his affinity for business, he previously held the office of Treasurer at the Swan River Rowing Club and Vice President of Rowing WA.

As a Consultant, Ian brings over four decades of knowledge in the practice of commercial law and wills and estate planning. Ian uses this experience to guide and assist our Wills and Estate Planning team to not only achieve the best outcome for their clients but, more importantly, the best experience.
